HorusHorus was often the ancient Egyptians’ national tutelary deity. He was usually depicted as a falcon-headed man wearing the pschent, or a red and white crown, as a symbol of kingship over the entire kingdom of Egypt.

The Eye of Horus is an ancient Egyptian symbol of protection, royal power, and good health. The eye is personified in the goddess Wadjet (the patron and protector of Lower Egyp), and Hathor (an ancient Egyptian goddess who personified the principles of joy, music, feminine love, and motherhood) is also depicted with this eye. The Eye of Horus is similar to the Eye of Ra, which belongs to a different god, Ra (the ancient Egyptian deity of the sun), but represents many of the same concepts.
